What is a STEM degree program?

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) programs require using research and analytic skills and can help lead to diverse career paths in growing fields.

International students who graduate with a STEM degree are eligible to remain in the United States for an additional 24 months of OPT. This is in addition to their initial 12 months. Learn more about the eligibility requirements

The 42-credit hour M.S. in financial analytics, specializes in the application of data science in the finance industry. As a STEM-designated program, the M.S. in Financial Analytics combines business analytics skills, such as data visualization, database management, predictive modeling and programming to make financially strategic decisions.

The 42-credit hour M.S. in cyber intelligence specializes in the application of the most sought-after skills in the key fields of business analytics and cybersecurity. This STEM-designated program combines cybersecurity principles — such as cryptography, penetration testing and forensics — with the most relevant statistical and programming techniques.

This 30-credit-hour program provides an in-depth education with a leadership and ethics focus. Students who complete this degree often pursue careers in areas such as threat analysis, cyber defense, network security, penetration testing and digital forensics.
