Thank you for joining the latest leadership lab series featuring, UD's Professor of Management J.Lee Whittington on the topic of "Rethinking Employee Engagement in Light of the Pandemic" on Wed., May 5, 2021.
Prior to the COVID pandemic, there was a pervasive concern about the reported low levels of employee engagement and the associated costs. The essence of this concern was having employees bring their "whole selves" to work. Despite this mantra, this emphasis ignored the fact that employees are whole people and that their lives consist of more than being employees. When COVID forced a fundamental change in the way we work, leaders were forced to explicitly acknowledge the fact that their employees were also spouses, parents, children, and teachers who had to balance the competing demands of these roles with their work responsibilities.
