Brett J. L. Landry is a cybersecurity practitioner with over thirty years of experience in consulting, teaching, presenting, and researching. He holds multiple esteemed certifications including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC). Landry attended the University of New Orleans, where he graduated with a B.S. in Management and a concentration in MIS. He received his MS in IT, an MBA, and Ph.D. in Technology Education from Mississippi State University. As a cybersecurity professor at the University of Dallas, Landry has taught security professionals around the world to address the challenges their organizations face and is frequently asked to present in the U.S., Africa, Asia, Europe, and South America on various topics in cybersecurity. He has been active in the University’s Center for Academic Excellence (CAE) in Cyber Defense which is designated by the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Landry has published and presented numerous articles in the areas of Cybersecurity, IT Ethics, IT Management, Network Architecture, and Disaster Recovery to both professional and academic audiences.
Before joining academia full-time, Landry developed network and security solutions at Mississippi State University and Hibernia National Bank (now Capital One Bank). As a professor at the University of New Orleans, he led a campus-wide network redesign to address critical outages. While serving as the Dean of UD’s Satish & Yasmin Gupta College of Business, Landry’s accomplishments were highlighted when he received the Dallas CEO 500 Award recognizing the 500 most influential business leaders in North Texas for 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022.
